Rob Guise is the founder and Executive Director of Family Solutions Institute, the leading Marriage and Family Therapy License Examination Preparation Program for counselors and therapists preparing for the AMFTRB National Licensing Exam in Marriage and Family Therapy. He regularly presents nationally and has successfully prepared over 49,000 MFTs and therapists for this exam since 1992.
Rob has actively trained Marriage and Family Therapists since 1980 until shifting to preparing MFT's to pass this exam. He was trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist and was an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and an AAMFT Clinical Member for 25 years and is no longer practicing as an MFT, having shifted his focus towards coaching families and individuals, believing that individuals, couples and families are assumed to be healthy, powerful, and able to achieve relationship goals with effective support, information and guidance. His work as a coach focuses on problem solving and helping people reach their fullest potential within all their relationships, their work and in their lives. A coaching focus differs from MFT in so much that it focuses more on external solutions to life problems, rather than resolving internal conflicts and finding the root causes that leads people to be stuck in their lives.
He has held the following positions:
Founder and Executive Director, Family Solutions Institute; Senior Faculty, Kantor Family Institute, Cambridge, MA; Founder/Past Director, Adolescent and Family Institute, Fitchburg, MA; Co-founder, The Family Center, Somerville, MA; Clinical Director, LUK, Inc., Fitchburg, MA; Adjunct Faculty Wheelock College, Boston, MA; past-Adjunct Faculty, University of Massachusetts, Fitchburg, MA.
Rob Guise is a Workshop Leader in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Nevada and Massachusetts.
